Today people appeared to be emotionally balance. Very kind and respectful.

Excellence and Empathy go hand in hand about their rounds here! Thank you!

Milton Hospital outsources their mental health care to South Shore Mental Health. If you go to their Emergency Room in a crisis you'll be triaged by Milton Hospital's staff who will medically clear you and pass you onto SSMH. It's a shame that with such good care that the hospital and their security team gives that they outsource such an important department in healthcare to a very poorly, caring and knowledable crisis team. Our family requested the patient be transferred to any Partners Psychiatric Hospital at the request of the patients outpatients providers which was stated to the clinicians at SSMH they said it would not be a problem. The three clinicians stated they would speak to the outside provider which never happened. Clearly because they never sent the patient to a Partners Hospital so they did not want to get a mouthful from the patients doctor and a transfer request started. The SSMH team never called any of the hospitals they stated they would as they had several beds available at their hospitals. They went the easy way and called the Arbour Healthcare System which is less paperwork. Out of pure laziness. Push patients out of Milton and off to Arbour because it's faster and ignore the patients, their families and most importantly their doctors requests. If you are in a mental health crisis DO NOT go to Milton Hospital drive yourself elsewhere. If you do wind up there remember you do have rights and request somewhere safe for your needs and not somewhere you'll get worse. If you do end up at Arbour and it's bad don't forget to file a complaint with the DMH.

I called Milton Hospital to try and schedule physical therapy that my son's doctor prescribed, and after being transferred 7-10 times, I ended up at the original phone tree. Then the call went dead. Why is this so difficult?

This place is an absolute nightmare!!! I slipped a disc in my back and they left me waiting in a wheelchair for 4 hours in the waiting room. Then when i finally was brought to tbe back i waited another 2 hours before they finally came and gave me a tylenol. What a joke, the dr. Had no bedside manner she was rude and condescending. I actually ended up walking out!!! I highly recommend u go to another hospital.

This review is on the Mental Healthcare at Milton Hospital and that alone. Milton Hospital ER, ICU and second floor doctors, nurses, cna's are truly all wonderful and are three stars.
